If you have to ask, does that mean your C: drive is so small you are worried about it?

AutoCAD/LT is a 1.2Gig download that expands into a 2.5Gig installer that needs 2.5Gig space to install and claen up. REVIT double or triples that.

Yup, i am out of memory. Running Acad 2015 LT on imac with boot camp and windows 7 pro. dpartition has 55.8 GB, with only 978 MB free.

Thinking about re-partitioning the drive to gain space. wondering how many GB to add to make 2015 LT run well again? working SF Residential and single story commercial and industrial projects.

also considering adding Revit LT for similiar projects.

no. it is my imac with boot camp. currently use windows 7.1. was concerned that autocad and revit are not yet good on windows 10.  thanks!

From there, you can check the system requirements for any version of AutoCAD. These will include OS, memory and disk space requirements.

As far as Windows 10 and AutoCAD, I would try to avoid that for a while while the problems get worked out, if you can.

Also, please try to use the correct terminology so other posters know what you are saying: "Yup, I am out of memory" should be "I am out of hard drive space" as memory typically refers to system memory, or RAM.

WARNING: These are my personal opinions as a former system builder/gamer/drafter.

You should consider the following carefully when looking at upgrade options.

1. If your system still has room for more RAM, you should consider maxing it out if that is in your budget. Try to match the RAM (so all the sticks are the same), as that helps with system stability.

If you are running VMs and Autocad, every little bit will help.

2. When you upgrade your hard drive, if you can use a Solid State Drive (SSD) you should consider doing so, they are a lot faster and, of course, more expensive, as they are essentially just a bunch of RAM.

Many users have a SSD as their boot drive to improve performance, and a standard large Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to hold a bunch of data, but again, that is a more expensive option.

If you cannot use (or afford) a SSD, look at the largest (affordable) drive that is compatible with your system, and choose the highest spindle speed/largest cache as those will help improve performance.

3. If you are buying online, make sure you choose a reputable vendor like Newegg that has a great reputation and a good return policy (just in case).
