Lines are not straight once I offset

Just started work for this company and when I started using autocad LT the drawings didn't line up straight. So I turned on ortho and the drawing still wasn't straight. I would also make straight polylines then I would offset and those lines wouldn't be straight.

Is SNAPANG set to 0 (that's a zero)? is your UCS rotated?

Can you increase the precision settings in your file to 1/256 in UNITS command, then simply use PROPERTIES or LIST commands to find out at what exact angle these lines are at (both source and result lines)? Explode the PLINE if needed back to LINE objects first.

I remember that this happened to me and you helped me. It was something to do with snap and ortho? Vertical and horizontal lines were slightly off, i.e. not 90 degrees?

With POLAR set to 15, horizontal lines are horizontal and vertical lines are vertical. no deviations.
Same results with ORTHO on.

The moment I turn on running OSNAPs and get close to any of your drawn objects I can see the cursor pull towards them: I suspect this is why you see deviations, you may be using other points to click on thus skewing the lines.

Get in the habit of toggle osnaps off (F3) and only turn them on (F3) when you need them and only when you are zoomed in to ensure you are clicking on the object snap you want to use.
