Layer Properties Manager not displaying properly.

See attached image. This only happens to the layer panel, and only off and on. Maybe once a month. No action or situation I can point to when it happens. The layers disappear. Sometimes when I click in the missing area that cell reappears, nut not every time. However, the option box for the cell e.g. line weight, color, etc, comes up. Note, the bottom left message says "All 29 layers displayed of 29 layers." Can't explain why it fixes it's self when it. This is now going into it's second day. Video Card is AMD Firepro V5900.

Dual screen? and this problem is ONLY on the second screen, or on your primary screen too?

Do you have the Autodesk driver for your video cards installed? find out here https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/downloads/content/certified-graphics-hardware.html

Yes, dual Dell 30 screens. I've always had the Layers on the left screen. However, I just moved the panel to the right screen and the  problem remains.

That link does not take me to info for Win 10. The AC hardware page requires I select a system. This is a custom machine I built in 2012. It has worked fine, and this problem is intermittent. I know I did update drivers last year, and I usually check the AutoCAD specific options. Not sure what is running currently. Shouldn't this problem be consistent if it was a driver issue?

So what has changed or is new with your setup? Or has this been a problem since 2012?
What version of AutoCAD are you running? Is it fully patched/updated? Go to ABOUT command and read the top line.

Have you tried to turn off hardware acceleration to see if that helps?

Nothing has changed recently. This has only appeared over the last year since I switched to AC 2017 LT. But again, very intermittently.

I just switched off hardware acceleration and it was remedied. Then I restarted AC a few times with and without hardware acceleration enabled and the problem appeared off and on in both states.

I thought I was up to date with patches. I have version N.104.0.0 AutoCAD LT 2017 -English SP1

LT2017.1.2 update/patch is only available from your active subscription portal here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/all

Sadly though, there is NEVER a permanent fix for something that is "..But again, very intermittently...".

Hi @CalypsoArt,

I suggest that you try a Reset Settings to Default to see if that corrects this issue.

You might also create a new user account on your computer. Logon with that account and see if the behavior continues.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

My customizations are more important to me than fixing this. I'm not going to reset to default to see if that works. Especially since it manifest itself intermittently and may not appear for a week or more.

Hi @CalypsoArt,

I certainly understand that. Be aware however that you can save your customizations in a zip file during that process.  You can also create a new user account on your computer to test if that fixes the issue.
