Layer Auto Select

Hi All,

I recently transitioned from working on a mac to a PC (AutoCAD LT 2022)

On my mac, when I selected an object, it would automatically highlight the selected layer in my layers panel. On the PC, it doesn't do that. Any suggestions on how I can do this?

Thanks in advance.

The only way is actually to make the layer current. LAYCUR command.

Thanks. It doesn't seem to be working as the object is on an xref file. I'll have to do it the painful way I guess. 🙂

What are your settings for PICKFIRST and PICKADD? Look them up in HELP, the default settings listed there are preferred.

It never shows on Prop. Pallet if it's in an xref.

You have to use command XLIST.

Found this LISP ....

[Message 1 indicates they're using AutoCAD LT, so AutoLisp functions are not an option.]

My bad. Missed the LT. I personally would never work at somewhere that has people using LT.

Upgrade is a must!! The Monthly payments will never bust their budget.

@jrreid you'd be amazed at the thin margins some users have to operate under at their job.

Hi @Theo_ST ,

In AutoCAD LT for Windows you can use QAT (Quick Access Toolbar) for this purpose:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-lt/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2021/ENU/I...

Just add Layers list to it and as soon as you select an object its layer will be on the first place in this list.
