I must double click triple click copy, move, save...and more

This is becoming tortuous!

LT version 2022 with all updates

Why do I have to double click, triple click on save, copy, move or just about any other command before the operation work?  I've tried three different mice...two hard wired, one wireless.  The condition persists.

In addition, if related, when selecting/copying multiple objects in model space - green sqaure - half the object highlighted move in the operation.  So, I must re-select/copy those objects which were originally within the green box, again.

I wrote tortuous above...this is insanely tortuous.

Thank you,

Michael

Not seeing anything like that here in LT2022.1.1.1 as listed in ABOUT command in Win10Pro here. But...

1) Are you moving your mouse before the click is completed? That's a WindowsOS feature to let you change your mind without triggering a button.

Or do you mean you suffer from "loss of focus", like another program window is active and you have to click at least once to make LT2022 active then the second click to nail that button you are aiming for?

2) is your PICKADD variable set to the default listed in HELP?

Or are you using Windows11?

Thank you for responding...

1) I am unaware of this feature.  Can I change it?   No to 'loss of function'

2) PICKADD is set to 2

Still on Windows 10...waiting on a new computer which will have Windows 11...good or bad?

Thank you as always,

Michael

1) Not that I am aware of, sorry. Is this sudden change, or only became noticeable when you moved to LT2022?

2) Great news.

Some users have minor graphics displays issues in Win11 in pop-ups and menus, nothing dramatic as far as I can tell for LT users, but you should do as Autodesk suggest here https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Will-A...

This is most likely a local problem not having anything to do with AutoCAD other than it affecting your workflow.

Have you tried slowing down and making a deliberate pause, click, and release without moving immediately afterwards?

I have, and although that does work most of the time, the condition still exists at times.  I know that this must seem silly, but I am using my mouse exactly as I have for years.

...the other condition that I described, copying a series of objects, moving them, only to find that half actually moved, began at about the same time.  I do not know if these are related...I will try to slow down my workflow.  Just seems odd.

Thank you!

You need to change. Mouse/cursor functionality has changed a lot. Maybe turning off hover tooltips and/or selection preview will help.

Survey says...

Most likely.

As we have all, sadly we are not seeing it in our office with our users in any year version. Do you have all the alerts and tooltips and so on still on? we don't.

Do these objects go off-screen at the same time by chance? As is, you select a bunch, pan, select some more, then move? Otherwise, not seeing that either. Not sure how to replicate it.

Record yourself sometime when you get a chance and post it here for us to see: use Autodesk's free Screencast tool, ensure you check the box to show your keystrokes/mouse clicks too https://knowledge.autodesk.com/community/screencast

...when I next get into a complicated drawing, I will begin a video...maybe we can catch a bad habit or something else.

Regarding the copy and paste...it seems to be isolated to similar objects.  If I am moving several pieces of a pergola for example, to expand its length, half of those objects might make the move.  That is after exploding the original pergola block.

I had the same issue and solved it by turning off "Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them"

I'm running Win10
