I am trying to insert Alt-Code, instead of copy/paste the character. The moment I press Alt key menu shortcut gets activated.

Write %%nnn with nnn the char code you need.

Is that what you are trying to do ?

Like %%123 that will generate a {

I've tried it in the property pallet, but it didn't work. I have tried it in annotation, it worked but it didn't produce the character I expected when using the numpad I am used to, e.g. ° (Alt-248). Is there a table for the list of characters and their number? Also, how can that be entered into a table cell?

Now I have to do copy/paste operation which works fine. I use Alt-Codes a lot in my daily work for mathematical signs and such to make drawings look crispier. It would be nice if there is a way to do it. Otherwise, I'll just mark this as a solution with Annotation text input only.

What about %%176 ? I was in a ASCII table and looked for what you need. It is not 248 but 176.

It should work in the property palette. Maybe you can close it and re-open if you don't want to see the %%nnn but the result....

@itabtabai If you use the Windows program CHARMAP it will show you what keys you need to press for special characters.
