How to change the font in text?

Hi.

I don't know what I've done wrong but it used to be that when I double clicked some text a window popped up above the text where I could change the font and txt size etc.

This doesn't appear any more.

Can anybody tell me why?

Thanks

Right click inside the mtext. Choose EDITOR SETTINGS. Click on SHOW TOOLBAR

Hmm Strange.

I tried what you suggested in a drawing I'm editing and that option wasn't available, but it is in a new drawing.

The Drawing is nearly 20 years old. Would this have any bearing on the problem?

Thanks for helping by the way 🙂

Is it single line text or multiline text?

The ruler  only appears for multiline text

Aha

Yes it is single line text.

If I try and add multiline text to the drawing it automatically converts to single line when I press CTRL+Enter

I'm struggling a little bit because I've moved from AutoCAD 2008 to AutoCAD 2018Lt. There are a LOT of differences.

There must be some way to change the font in single line text but I just can't find it.

When it comes to TEXT objects, nothing has changed between your two versions: you have to assign the font to a text style, then assign your single-line text to that style. You can use PROPERTIES (among others) for that task just like you did in your old software.

Or do you just need to turn on QPMODE?

Thanks for the help.

I've managed to do what I needed to.

Checking show toolbar sorted me out.

I hardly ever use AutoCAD so no point going crazy trying to learn every wrinkle.
