Having problems with scale when creating annotative blocks

For whatever reason my brain is not functioning when trying to figure out the correct way to create an annotative block. I will create the block at 1:1 then end up with a gigantic image when switching scales. From time to time I'll screw up the scale with text and the rest of the image. Any help will be much appreciated.

You have drawn your block too big.

1:1 should mean your text size is 1/8" and not 4.5" as you have drawn it. I've scaled down your block to the correct paper text height. It's the one with the b in it. See the attached drawing.

Hi @mbetGEGZX ,

To resolve scale-related issues when creating annotative blocks in AutoCAD, follow these steps:

1. Create the block at 1:1 scale:
- Create the block geometry in model space using its intended dimensions at a 1:1 scale.

2. Enable the Annotative property:
- Open the block in the Block Editor.
- In the Properties palette, set Annotative to "Yes."

3. Add the required scales:
- Open the Annotative Object Scale dialog and add the scales needed for the block.
- If a scale is unavailable, use the SCALELISTEDIT command to add it.

4. Align the drawing annotation scale:
- Confirm that the drawing's annotation scale matches one of the scales assigned to the block.

5. Verify the block dimensions:
- Check the block's dimensions in model space.
- If they are incorrect, adjust the block scale to achieve the desired dimensions.

6. Apply appropriate text and dimension settings:
- Set text and dimensions to annotative and assign the appropriate scales.
- Turn on Annotation Visibility and enable "Automatically add scales to annotative objects when the annotation scale changes."
