Graphic Scale Selection

I am using AutoCAD LT 2019.  I need to insert a graphic scale into the paperspace view of my drawing.  I go to the annotation tools palette and insert imperial graphic scale.  It inserts at 1"=1'-0".  The drawing scale is 1/8"=1'-0".  When I select the graphic scale, the pop-down triangle does not have architectural scales listed like the viewport scale does.

Is there a setting I am missing?

Thanks in advance.

Correct, but my selections do not show architectural units.  The selections are engineering units.  I know it is a simple setting, but I cannot find it in the menus.

Is the problem only in this file? Or ALL of your files?
Is this a file you received from others?
Or one of your creations, and you started with the ACADLTISO template file and not the ACADLT template file?

Can you share it here?

I got the file from others.  There is no telling how it was set-up.  I used to use regular ACAD on a regular basis about 10+ years ago.  I now have a position where I only occasionally need to edit a drawing, so I got a copy of LT a couple years ago.  I'm a little rusty editing drawing settings.  Coupled with the fact that LT commands are slightly different than full ACAD, I'm still on a learning curve.  There is only one graphic scale function that I have found in LT and it's scale selections are not how this drawing is being used.  I was able to get the drawing to present how I needed just without a graphic scale.

Thanks for the assist.

LT is AutoCAD when it comes to core functions. Rusty is common for light users like yourself, that's understandable.

INSERT this problem file(s) into one of your perfectly set up TEMPLATE files (if XREF is not an option), SAVEAS, and your own settings will appear in the files of others all the time. Be aware you might notice a scale change (I suspect your outside file is not even set up for inches).

OR try this tip from another user https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/import-scale-list/m-p/2932560#M239200 and https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/civil-3d-forum/import-scales-from-a-drawing/m-p/4543633#M223861

Still no way to select architectural graphic scales.  Scale selections are limited to engineering scales.  I opened the sample architectural sheet set to see if it was simply a setup issue.  Attached is a picture of the selections.  No matter how I set-up the drawing these are the only selections I get which are useless on an architectural floor plan.

See attached.  This is the Arch Sheet Set example.  I opened it and tried to insert the same graphic scale assuming it was set up correctly from Autodesk.  I am thinking that the blocks in the tool pallet are simply limited.  I opened the graphic scale block in block editor to see if there were any selections available in the block that I cannot see when editing the drawing in real time.  There are no scale selection in the block data other than the ones shown in the picture I posted in the thread.  If this is a program glitch, I will gladly install the patch.  I am running 2023 version of LT

I simply opened your file in LT2019, ignored the alerts about missing XREFs, double-clicked inside the viewport and I see this in my list

Do you not have this set in OPTIONS in LT2019 on your side?

And does your ABOUT command in LT2019 show you as being fully updated like mine is

That's not the scale I am concerned with.  Scaling the model space is fine.  It is in the bottom tool bar same as you posted.  What I am talking about is a "graphic scale" that you place on the paperspace view to show the reader what scale the drawing is in a graphical manner.  So depending on what size the drawing is printed out, the reader can get a feel for the scale of the drawing.  See attached.

Search for Sample drawings on your computer

Mine in LT2016 are at C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD LT 2016\Sample\en-us\Dynamic Blocks

They have imperial and metric scales in them

... or make your own SCALE BAR. You'd be done by now and have about a dozen examples.

And on the web https://www.google.com/search?q=scale+bar+in+dwg+format

And in these forums for sample SCALE BARs

Thank you for the reply.  I have the following tools available which gives me a graphic scale available.

Screenshot 2022-04-01 091047.png

However, when I insert the graphic scale, there is only one scale setting available.  There are no architectural scales able to be selected.

Screenshot 2022-03-31 161825.png

I have looked for a way to change the setting for the graphic scale, but cannot find one except to edit the dynamic block.  Thinking it was my ineptitude with ACAD LT, I opened the A1 sample sheetset drawing installed with the latest update to see if different scales were available in that drawing since it was set-up by Autodesk.

Any user made blocks would be appreciated at this point.  I can draw my own obviously, but they won't be dynamic.

What architectural scales are you looking for? You can edit those blocks to add your own scales.

Then that's what I will do.  Will they stay dynamic?

Yes. You just need to create a new visibility state for each of your new scales

So, I still have to create the scales I need and assign them to the visibility state.
