Going from lines (with a scale) to dimensions (compact)

What I'm trying to do is take lines of varying length and go from the left image to the right image quickly. Right now I must explode the dimension and then align the dimensions how I want them. Any better ideas?

Thank you.

Never EVER explode a dimension: you might as well just type text and be done with it.

I can;t tell from your picture: what are you trying to align exactly? How are you using the word align too.

What is your exact LT version?

Hi shea.molthen,

I haven't seen an update to your posts in this thread since your initial one. There are many dimension variables that should help you to achieve the placement the way you desire. I agree with @pendean that exploding dimensions is not a viable practice. I have attached a link to a YouTube video that can show you how to get started.

To move your text around the dimension lines manually try playing with the DIMFIT variable. I like to set it at DIMFIT=5.

I hope this answers your question and gets you closer to where you want to be.
