Flip Dimension text to Other Side

I have a vertical dimension where I need the dimension text below the extension line and on the right side of the dimension line.  The attached screen shot shows the way Autocad places it.  How do I move it to the other side of the dimension line and still keep the dimension below the extension line and keep the 90° leader?

I've FINALLY found a solution. In the properties of the selected dimension scroll down to the "Fit" section. For "Text Movement" change the value to "Move text, add leader". Dimension.PNG

This would be called a "Workaround".  Not a fix.

It is only a workaround if you decide to never make that setting in your DIMSTYLE in the first place, otherwise it is literally a user option you have to opt into, aka a fix  😉

Now you know: hope that helps.

I've been using Autocad for 30 years.  I'm very well aware of these settings.  It is a work-around because you have to deal with unwanted behavior when dragging dimensions around your drawing to optimize space and appearance.  A "Fix" would be a way to flip the dimension to the other side without using unfavorable settings.

@ kimK7B54 Good to know. You may also know that what AutoCAD can do and what it be changed to do (aka what we might wish it/want it to do) is all we write about in these forums: to ask for a change to the core program behavior, it is best to do so where Autodesk looks for feedback from us end users, over here https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

FYI: Pretty much everyone here replying to posts have 30-ish years in the program, we are all end users just like you, guiding each other to where to get the most out of the program.
