Flickering AutoCAD LT 2016

I have a computer that is having some periodic issues with AutoCAD LT 2016 and I'm looking for some advice.  Randomly, the screen will flicker black for a split second, and whatever the user has selected will de-select.  Once he selects it again, everything continues working just fine until it happens again.  It seems totally random - we can't pinpoint what's causing it.  It's more of an annoyance than a problem, but are there any suggestions as to what we can do to fix it?  We've tried disabling hardware acceleration, updating the graphics drivers, and changing out the monitor / VGA cable just to rule those out.  Computer specs are listed below.  Looks like the graphics card isn't listed as a recommended card, but we wanted to be sure we've tried everything we can before recommending purchasing a new card.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Is LT2016 fully patched and updated?
So this is random, not consistent, and only happens when selecting objects?
By chance is it random as in maybe it's just limited to a few files then?

No point replacing a video card for 'random', there is no guarantee of a fix for 'random' issues. Try to find a trigger first: it may be as silly as unplugging your phone from your PC or not running something else at the same time, or it's just one or a few clusters of bad DWGs or Xrefs.

It seems completely random - we've been unable to find a definite trigger thus far.  It doesn't happen when selecting objects, it just happens randomly and anything that is selected when it happens is then de-selected.  LT2016 is fully patched and updated, and it seems to happen no matter what file the user is working on.

If you run AutoCAD in a selective start-up mode does the same issue happen there?

Apologies for the time on the reply, it has continued through selective startup.  As stated, drivers have been update and reinstalled, LT is up to date, the problem follows the program whichever monitor it's on, so it's not the monitor or cables.  There seems to be no real trigger for it, it happens randomly as far as we can tell.  Any suggestions?
