Enhanced Attribute Editor opens instead of Edit Attributes in LT 2018

I have recently upgraded from LT 2007 to LT 2018 and created new blocks with text attributes..  When I needed to edit the text before I could just double click and a simple editor popped up [see pic1 2007] and tab to edit, it was done.

With this version I double click a block it will open the edit block definition or the enhanced attribute editor (would like to disable) [see pic1 2018].

I have searched for a solution and one I found was to hold the crtl key and click but it isn't working on new blocks.  I have attached a sample file with 3 blocks that act differently and I can't make the ctrl+double click work on the new "gate label" block.

I have played around with the properties and can't make it work like the others I have included.  I have gone back to 2007 and created "new gate" block that works exactly as I want to when I create new blocks with 2018.

I have also seen a post to edit the CUI but the steps aren't very clear and I am not sure that will even do what I am wanting?

If you want to use the old attribute editor and not the enhanced editor type CUI at command line and in the command list look for Edit Attribute in the ACAD Commands. Then in the macro on the right side erase the e after the underscore so the macro becomes  ^C^C_attedit
