editing default scale list, edits dont appear in vp scale options

hi all

i am having this frustrating experience where i have edited the default scale list as usual, then saved it.

i added in some customer specific scales such as 1:300 and 1:500 to suit my clients drawings.

i go to the viewport properties to change the viewport scale and these two scales do not apear as options, instead i have to type in 0,00033333

for 1:300 and 0.002 for 1:500 every time.

am i missing something? some setting called keepscalesyouwant=1 or something?

Hi,

May I understand whether you have tried the following workflow.

  1. Select the viewport
  2. Open the Properties Palette
  3. On the Properties Palette, under Misc, select the desired scale from the Standard Scale drop-down list.

Are you saying the annotation scale is missing in the drop down as shown below.

Can you please try a scalelist reset and add new annotation scales and see whether it  helps.

hi all

i found the solution through scalelistedit command

before that this was happening, id go in and set my scales i like in options

cad scales 1.png

then i would apply the settings and go to the viewport properties

and see this

scale list 2.png

however i found the command EDITSCALELIST and deleted the scales i didnt need and put in my 1:500 scale.

not sure why it worked that way, but hey it worked.

i would have thought that editing scales in options should suffice.

thanks again for everyones help

Is there any reason you've not saved a TEMPLATE file to use as 'new' with all these and other settings predefined in it?

ah yes i have tremplate files for each client, however when editing foreign drawings i have had the scales change.

i assumed the default scale list was for this machine, not stored in the template.

cheers

Each existing file carries it's own scales: your "system" or "template" settings are ignored all the time in each existing file. That's probably what's going on with your "foreign drawings".
