One of our IT guys recently refreshed my account. Consequently all my AutoCAD settings were lost. I have now got AutoCAD close to what it was before refresh, but I've got a problem with DXF files that I can't solve. My files are very simple 2D profiles. I save them in dwg & in dxf. I can open the DWGs without any problems, but if I double click on the DXF file, AutoCAD opens a new "Drawing1.dwg". If I try file>>Open>> select a dxf file , same problem. Appreciate any suggestions on this. Thank you Cionn.
@ron.dorszynski The creator of the DXF file will have to do that for you, or you grab a trial version of a much newer AutoCAD version than yours to open/save down yourself as a one-off fix.
