Double-clicking a DXF file opens a new instance of AutoCAD LT 2020

When double-clicking a DXF file in Windows Explorer (not when opening it from within AutoCAD LT 2020), each drawing launches in a separate instance of AutoCAD LT 2020.

Does this happen with DWG files by chance?
Find out which application Windows is set to use to open your DXF file, then compare when you do the same for DWG file: are they different?

No, this does not happen with DWG files.

Yes, they are different: Windows is set to use "AutoCAD LT Application" to open our DXF files and "AutoCAD DWG Launcher" to open our DWG files.

They need to be the same I believe, "AutoCAD DWG Launcher" .

hi! I am experiencing this issue, but I cannot select DWG launcher for DXF files; I can only set DWG to open with DWG launcher. When trying to set the default program for DXF files, DWG launcher isn't even an option. Any ideas?

Choose your primary DWG program for dxf files.
Or get in the habit of using OPEN command from inside our AutoCAD software.
