Hi,

I am creating new dimension styles for my office. I have created them but whenever i dimension something it shows the layer that has already been deleted. Please see the snippet below. The first snippet is my new dimension style ERG_1to200. Whenever i select my layer ERG_Dims_Detail and dimension something. It is drawn in different layer automatically. Please help.

Hi,

You may need to check DIMLAYER (System Variable) .. here AutoCAD specifies a default layer for new dimensions. >> Click <<

DIMLAYER command: look up usage in HELP.

Side note: That's a very old-school method you are developing, circa 1990s: are you also creating thousands of duplicate mleaders, leaders, blocks and text styles for each eventual plot scale too?
And what happens when someone decides a 1:20 is not good and everything needs to be 1:50, you all then spend all day changing content out?

Are you folks gun-shy about using Annotative dimstyles, text styles, mleader styles and blocks? So you only have one dimstyle for example. All the time. In all files.
