(TL;DR is in bold underline.)
Hi, this is my first post post on this forum as I am usually able to figure out what I need from searches/videos. Sorry if this is something I should be able to figure out but I'm hoping someone is able to help me (or that this is possible at all).
I use AutoCAD to draw HVAC diagrams in buildings and I was hoping to improve readability by creating a custom line that is black but has a user-set colour highlight around it. This would help colour-code and differentiate the various HVAC systems within the building. I have attached an example of how I would like this to look. I created this example by drawing a thick green line and then drawing a thin black line over it. This is the exact effect I'm going for but doing this manually would be time consuming. I know I could just choose different solid colours to draw the ductwork but I don't really like how this looks and I would prefer to have black lines to give a reliable contrast.
I would also be interested in a double black line with the colour inside, but I would need it to be as easy to work with as a single line (ie be able to have branching fillets, etc).
Thanks for reading.
LINETYPE definitions in AutoCAD cannot do that. Sorry. LT does not have other commands to replicate that either as a single entity.
You'll have to explore other multi-object solutions like a wide colored PLINE draw-ordered behind your all black LINE object. Or use a colored solid HATCH instead of the PLINE tip above
