You'll have to get the Solidworks user to export to some format that AutoCAD LT can open, such as .DWG, or .DXF

HI @Anonymous,

If you can't get a different file format, you can open Solidworks files (SLDDRW, SLDPRT , SLDASM) in Fusion 360 and then you could move to AutoCAD dwg's

Of course you will be able to see the 3D in AutoCAD LT but you wont' be able to do any 3D editing.

I don't think this will work.

A SolidWorks eDrawing  (*.edrw) is a web viewing format similar to Autodesk *.DWFx.

Hi @JDMather,

Thanks for the clarification on the edrw issue.

It would be interesting to try working with a file if I could get one.

Prior to posting -

I tried with eDrawing - couldn't get it to work

SolidWorks drawing file *.slddrw - couldn't get it to work

SolidWorks part file *.sldprt - that worked

Hi @JDMather,

I concur worth your results. I have been able to open the .SLDPRT in Inventor but that's the extent of my success.

So, IMHO, I would say that if there is a conversion to be done it likely needs to be done on the Solidworks side and not in AutoCAD LT.

Thanks for your contribution.
