Hello,
is there a way to convert a block or polyline into a custom hatch pattern ?
I want to creat a view of a roof, filled with a type of rooftile only found here in the Netherlands.
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Marcel

Not in LT, you can certainly create a custom hatch, but they consist of line segments only. If you want to use a block of a roof tile then maybe look at the array command (but that will only use full blocks - no halves at the edges).
How much detail do you need/want to show in the hatch, would it not be possible to just adapt an existing hatch.
I made a dynamic block with an array option and clipped it so size, which works fine.
But it seems to me that hatch is a better option.
Not much detail, a simple single line block should be more then enough,
Adapting an existing hatch might work, although i haven't found a suitable pattern yet.
Thanks for the tip !
A hatch can only contain lines, so no curves, you would need to break those curves down into short line segments to create a hatch pattern like that. Have you tried a google search here's just one site offering free roof tile hatches
The hatch would need to depict properly sized tiles as laid.
Could you post a full-scale R14 DXF of the tiles (curves and polylines are ok)?

For some reason i can not add an attachment
So used a wetransferlink: https://we.tl/t-LNTu40uvv3
Thanks again.
Ok, DXF shows three individual tiles in plan so have sizes if leftmost tile is ~218 wide.
However each must be trimmed to hide what's hidden.
How does each overlap

Hugh
Hi,
thanks, that simplifies the job.
See attached for double lined versions butted both ways.
