Cannot open Templates from your website

I downloaded a template from each section on your website in firefox.

Opening DWT file: successful.

Opening DST file: fails.

Opening DGN file: fails.

Although this forum is hosted by Autodesk the people who use this forum are just users like yourself. So it would help if you gave US a link to the sites you are talking about as someone might be able to help see what the problem might be

It would be helpful to say

1. how you downloaded

2. and how you tried to open USE the files

Example for User fails

a) Just click to the link insteat the context menu "link save as" (or similar)

    this way it is possible you didn't downloaded the file, just viewing in the browser..

    But: You missed to explain what "fail" means in details.

b) for example the dgn seed files..

     1. AutoCAD can not OPEN a DGN, so it is impossible what you tried.

     2. If you tried to ATTACH these DGN, thats impossible - i guess it is because they are blank file and Autocad don't want to attach blank files.

     These are SEED files, seed files are set up file for DGN-Export

So, let us know what you did in detail.

Thank you for replying. OK, on their website (linked above as hyperlink) I made right-click on the mentioned sorts of files and chose "save as" because i did not want to open them in firefox.

As I just learned from the first answer above, not all autocad files can be openen with acadlt.exe

That's it. Just DWT are drawing templates for new files or as source for layouts.

DGN and the other one is for other action.

All those files can be opened with Autocad LT. But not with the 'OPEN' command, if you click on the red A at the top left-hand corner of the program and then move your mouse over the 'open' tab you then get the option to choose which type of file you want to use. Clicking on one of those will open up the appropriate dialogue box for each of the file types so that you can find them in the location you had downloaded them to.

Is it, because I am only a "trial user" (unregister version) ?

DGN is an import option so you will need a drawing open first for that option to show.

And as a note there are no restrictions at all in the trial version.
