Tracing from one scale to another

I have a tiff scan of a 1:500 drawing that I need to trace in AutoCad Lt and publish at about 1:50.  What scale do I trace it at?

First time using AutoCAD if I may ask?

Trace over the TIFF
Scale it to 1:1 as all things in AutoCAD should be drafted as you know/remember.
Then print/plot/publish to any print scale you wish desire with PLOT command or PUBLIUSH after you use PAGESETUP command to correctly define the output parameters.
