Blurry Lines

Anonymous

When upgraded from 2020 to 2021 the lines now appear quite blurry.

I have tried turning hardware acceleration off and on and also the line smoothing from GRAPHICSCONFIG with little improvement.

I have looked at the grpahics card drivers and all other updates but nothing seems to be helping.

If anyone can provide assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Gavin

Did you try putting your glasses back on?

What do you mean by blurry? Screenshots would be helpful.

SurfacePro6's tiny screens are fuzzy, or are the larger external monitors they are attaching to look fuzzy?

I managed to get some screen shots from the end user of the lines she is claiming arent as clear as they were pre upgrade.

Before upgrade:

After upgrade:

Its the thicker lines that are on the top left that she is having an issue with.

Thanks,

That looks like a display setting that is different. Either LWDISPLAY is turned on (most likely) or "Display plot styles" is checked in the page set-up.

@RobDraw That looks like a display setting that is different. Either LWDISPLAY is turned on (most likely) or "Display plot styles" is checked in the page set-up.

I have just spent some time on the Surface with the end user and both LWDISPLAY is turned off and also the Display Plot styles checked box was not ticked.

I had a brief look at the Layers and EXG001 which is one layer she has setup is the one used for the Bolder white lines in the second drawing - Even when changing the default line thickness of this it makes no difference after REGEN also.

Any other recommendations?

Thanks,

Back to my earlier question too... Are the blurry lines screenshot from the primary 13" screen, or from a secondary larger secondary screen attached to the MSSurfacePro?

@pendean  It is on the surface "13 screen however both screen shots are from that screen, the only difference has been the upgrade to version 2021.

End user did mention that only lines etc she has added after the upgrade appear to be different.

Thanks,

Can you post a copy of the drawing, or a dwg file just showing a few of these lines (normal, blurry) so we can see if it is in the drawing or maybe a something on your user's computer/settings.

I'm seeing some similar issues being reported in these forums, here is one that seems to be trying to solve it https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/microsoft-surface-pro-6-blurry-pixly-screen-in-fus...

And this on Microsoft's Support forum https://support.microsoft.com/en-ie/help/3025083/windows-scaling-issues-for-high-dpi-devices and https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/4091364/windows-10-fix-blurry-apps

Anecdotal fix that I also found in many spots: Go to your laptop display settings... under "SCALE AND LAYOUT" find "Change the size of the text, apps, and other items... Select "100%". My laptop was defaulting to 200%.

make sure you all report this issue to Autodesk as well https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

Nothing stands out as far as linetypes and thickness, the bolder white lines are 'brighter' than the walls, just because the walls layer is frozen. The drawing looks crisp on my computer so it could be a problem with running it on a surface pro. However I did spot that the walls are not 100% horizontal (windows)  on some you see the pixelated stepping of lines, on my screen that doesn't create a blurry image but it might on another system. And having seen that I bumped up the drawing precision to a full 8 decimal places, and the same problem is there with some of the new geometry, only slight but this might be the cause of a surface pro showing the line as blurry (as an example the lockers at the top left, horizontaly have a 'y' delta of 0.00000028). And just as another comment the racks in the centre of that room are made up with 4 overlapping lines on different layers, reducing that back to just one line makes no visible difference on my screen, but those are a couple of points worth trying to fix, to exclude them from how a surface pro behaves.
