Autocad table... making column of text into attribute?

Hello great forum folk.

My company uses tables for building finishes with a column of text stating if it is Standard, Optional, or N/A.  Instead of copying and adjusting for numerous house styles, I would love to use a block of the table and have the right column text be an attribute so when copied, I can edit the text as it applies.  Possible?  I think that using the table will interfere.

Post an example drawing of what you want.

Then we might be able to suggest other ways to do what you want, but attributes in a block can be done as well

Thanks so much.  Here is the table.  All info remains the same for every house with just the right column being adjusted as it applies to varies styles.  I used to make attributes but don't know how to do so with a table.  I hope that you can help and let me know that it's not possible.  I wouldn't do a lot of things here in the way that they do here but I don't have a say at the moment.  [attachment]

So putting attributes / blocks in a table can be a bit of a pain sometimes as attributes still need to be edited and blocks cannot be dynamic.

So I've attached a workaround

Hovering over each cell is a block with 3 visibility states. The blocks and the table have been grouped together so they can be moved around.

The only thing you need to do to change the blocks is change the PICKSTYLE to 0. Then if you click on the text STD. you will see a blue arrow to the right of it. Click on that to change the text.

Don't forget to change PICKSTYLE to 1 so you can move the table and the blocks together.

Goodness!   Thank you so much for taking the time on this and replying.  I will look into what you did and try to remember for future creations.  I will definitely use now.   Thank you.

Hello, again. I hate to have to write again but I'm not finding any attributes in hovering over the column of text either as the inserted block nor if I block edit (which is the command and time that I'm trying to avoid).  What am I missing?  I have pickstyle at 0.  I inserted the table as a block.  I hope that you can point me in the right direction.  I so appreciated your taking the time before but it is appearing identical in behavior to my plain table.

You can't insert the table as a block. If you're inserting it as a block that would be a whole different set of stuff to work out as the text I've put in there is already a block and you can't have a dynamic block within a static block.

Thank you for seeing my reply and responding.  I copied your table in but I don't find anything different.  The text in the right column is in single rows each editable (as normal text).  If I hover, I don't find anything.  I went to your original file with the green table which DOES show your visibility choices - thank you.  When I copied, the dynamics seemed to disappear but not this time - not sure what happened.  Thank you again!

It's the pickstyle variable. Set to 1 it treats the table and blocks as one group and will not show the grips. Set to 0 however it ignores the group and then you can see the individual grips for the blocks.

Hwalker - If you can humor one more query, the pickstyle set to <1> is leaving the little blocks by themselves when I grab the table.  What might I be doing wrong?  Should I group the blocks and table?  [image below]

My apologies.  I am not used to "GROUP" command.  I've since learned it and what pickstyle does.  Thank you again!!

Hello again, hwalker - Regardless of pickstyle setting, when I grab the table to move it or copy, the right column dynamic text isn't moving with it.  Is this expected and that I need to select all and move/copy?  (image in 2 messages above).

Thanks.

Again, was having issue with Groups.  Finding them difficult to use and not understanding how they are managed without names.  Thanks again for your help.
