AutoCAD - PDF dwg convert to DWG file

I'm fairly new to Autocad and have been trying to convert some PDF drawings into DWG format so that I can measure areas for pricing landscape projects. However when I then upload the drawing on Autocad LT 2013 it goes from a clearly visible detailed drawing to completely black and white, which makes my job quite difficult. Is there a simple solution to this issue or is it a case that I may have to upgrade to a newer version.

perhaps you can explain what goes "completely black and white"?

can you post some screen shots comparing with what you want vs what you're getting?

@danielNRULG AutoCADLT2013 had no ability to convert PDFs to DWG if I remember correctly: are you using a 3rd party conversion tool, or did you just attach the PDFs as is into your file and it reversed the display from a white background sheet to a black background sheet?

@pendean Yeah, I used a 3rd party tool to convert PDF's to DWG and the result is as the images above.

That is likely the source of your issues then. Sorry. Find another "better' tool from another vendor. Start testing.
