Since the Microsoft Windows 10 update a last week, "Creators Update", Autocad has had trouble starting. I've read several forum articles, and tried a few things, such as adding " /nohardware" to the shortcut, and deleting the "adskflex_00691b00_tsf.data" file from the ProgamData/Flexnet folder. Neither of these seems to have helped this time. If the program starts, it works fine. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Pendean
I have LT 2017 on a Perpetual license. I run it on a quad machine with 8G memory. I also had license issues with the 2016 LT. But LT 2017 ran flawlessly until the Windows update. Something must have been reset.
It is 2017.1.1. There is no "check for updates" in the Help menu. How do you check for Autocad updates?
I have never tried "roll back". I'd need to figure that out.
When window updated, it took quite a long time. I'm not sure It is a good idea or safe to roll-it-back.
Updates are posted in your Subscription Accounts Page under your software product https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/all
Yes, I had looked there. Nothing there but language packs.
Funny, I just upgraded to 2016/17, so Autocad would work with Win 10. Oh boy.
Hi @Anonymous,
I'm a little late to this thread but were you able to get to access the necessary updates.
Can you post back with a screengrab of your accounts page not showing the update? (PLEASE remove or block out any serial numbers or personal information from the screengrab).
I'll do my best to see what I can do.
Thanks.
Hi Emmsleys
Attached is the screenshot. Thanks.
Now that loading Autocad has become unreliable, I'm keeping it running day after day, and hibernating my computer. I have had no other issues with any other programs.
@Anonymous,
Thank you, I'll see if I can get someone from the specific team that handles accounts.
A quick question, are you on a subscription of AutoCAD LT 2017?
Hi
I have a perpetual license. Essentially, I paid 3 years of subscription up front.
My assumption was that Autodesk & Microsoft would work together. Oppps.
If I'd known that Autocad would have problems keeping up with Microsoft, I whould have bought the lease.
@Anonymous,
Okay,
So what I can offer up as a suggestion is to apply all of the hotfixes available here.
If applying all the hotfixes and updates still don't resolve the issue you should create a support case to be worked on by a specialist in our Accounts/Registration team.
If you do not have the ability to do that post back and let me know. I can help get you directed to that team. Just let me know.
You might want to post here as well: Moving to Subscription. There might be other's who can provide suggested workarounds or insight.
Thanks Sarah, I looked at the downloads, and I have a more current version than the only one pertinent download. I may open a support case, when I catch up on work. And wow, thanks for showing me what other 'Perpetual license' people deal with. At least mine starts now.
A sort-of solution.
I found a way to open AutocadLT. I hover over the autocadLT icon, and "open file location". I right-click on the Autocad LT shortcut, and pick "troubleshoot compatibility". I then pick the option to "Try recommended settings".
The computer then attempts to open Autocad LT, and succeeds after about 4 minutes. That's not bad, compared to not opening at all.
It is opening two AutocadLT windows, one that runs and one that freezes. Curious. I can't imagine that Autodesk had this in mind, but, I need to get my work done, and I can't sit around and fidget with this day after day. Either Micosoft, HP or Autocad have an incompatibility. They may find it, or not. Now I have time to go get a coffee while Autodesk boots up.
Thanks for your help. Now I can get back to work.
