AutoCAD LT 2025 - Fonts are being overridden by Arial

Hello everyone,

I use a specific font on CAD that matches my company's branding in my architectural projects for continuity and legibility purposes; however, I've recently upgraded to AutoCAD 2025 from 2024 and the program no longer renders the font correctly. I use the latest version of Inter from rsms and when selected in the text style editor, the font is displayed as Arial.

Here is how it is being displayed while Inter, which is vastly different that Arial, is selected.

As mentioned, the font worked just fine on AutoCAD LT 2024, with full capabilities and rendering ability. How do I go about this?

Is the Inter Medium font installed in your Windows directory?

Yes, it is installed on my machine. This issue persists with many fonts that share similar traits to Arial, like Helvetica, Neue Haas Grotesk, etc. I'm unsure what could be causing it, considering I have all the files locally on my machine.

Here is how to open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help:

Unfortunately, I cannot access support cases since I operate on an educational license for schooling.

Then I recommend you go back to 2024 for now until someone posts a solution for you.

I am experiencing the same issue. True type fonts are displaying as Arial even though they are not.

@dmiller_SCE  Roll back to the 2024 version, then open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help:

Run this tool in 2025 and follow its directions if any are presented:

Otherwise you need to do one or more of the following:

Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD/LT 2025.

If still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort in the same command pop-up.

Hi @masonhart20002 ,

Could you share the font file to us for investigation?

Sorry for the issue. The workaround is to switch to "Intermediate Mode" in GRAPHICSCONFIG dialog then quit and restart AutoCAD LT 2025.

This step worked for me.

"Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD/LT 2025."
