annotative scale delete

Hello

Is there any way to delete ALL BUT CURRENT annotative scales from objects? (in one move)

Now I have to go to properties and select all the other scales and delete them by hand.

Why don't you change the blocks to be non-annotative?

I swich, quite often, betwen "close" scales (from 1:50 to 1:60 for example)

In this example have two roof elements.

The one on the left is shorter than the one on and fits inside a 1:70 frame (A3 paper size)

The one on the right is "the same" except longer and fits inside a 1:80 frame (A3 paper size)

So, after i mirror the whole thing (to the right) i need to change the annoscale of the dimensions, mleaders and text.

What i do is add to the 1:70 the 1:80 scale, but then i have 2 scales for each anno.object wich display on top of eachother.

What i would like to do is to REPLCE the 1:70 with 1:80 in one ckick.

Another thing is that i sometimes copy objects with 1:60 or1:50 scales and end up with 3-4 diferite scales on the same sheet. It's no big deal to remove all unwanted scales from the properties pannel, but would like to do it in 1 click

Yikes!

Hate to say it, but if you used Layouts and viewports instead of modelspace to plot you would not need two copies of the same content side-by-side with two different scales to fit two different paper sizes. That's the real answer to your problem.

Set once and forget and only work on one MODEL all the time. You need to also explore using VPMAX and VPMIN to be in modelspace to work on your files.

Is it too late to teach you a new trick? I'm old myself 🙂

So you mean to have 1 dwg/element?

Every element has something a little differit, eaven though most of it is the same. And becouse of small differences it's "better" to have each one drawn separatly.

This is the easyest and less complicated way, for me, to do this kind of element. I'll rather copy extra objects in model space than to define new viewports in paperspace.

If you know a better/faster way of doing it, i'm opend for suggestions.

And as for being old..theres nothing any of us can do about it.

So your 1:70 scale has different content and measurements from your 1:80 scale? Then yes, these should be two separate DWG files. Different is just that, not identical, like the two sheets that will print and be separate i your paper set when you send it to someone to build. Perhaps XREFs are what you need to explore, if thet differences are so small.

But if the difference is only plotting scale, than you need to be using Layouts as I suggest.

1.select the block

2.right click

3.properties

4.dropdown for annotative scales

5.delete unwanted annoscales

So I have been searching for such a macro too and nothing for AutoCAD LT. What I have come up with isn't the most glamourous macro. However it first sets the scale even if it's the current scale. Then it adds that current scale to the object even if it has it... This is done just in case the object doesn't have the scale. Then it goes through a predetermined list and removes all the other scales. This is based on our typical scalelist. The list can be tailored to your needs. A macro button has been created for the most common scales we use at our office. 

This works for our needs and I am hoping it might spark some ideas from others when dealing with excessive objectscales.

I've removed the named scale with an enter since the target scale is the current one. and replaced the space with an enter (before delete, i think)

I really like the revision at the beginning of the macro. This makes it a little more universal to work with. Glad to see this was helpful!

To do this, you would think you can right-click and have the same options as for an individual object but to our surprise "NO" these option disappears.

To circumvent this, you can have the "PROPERTIES" menu open and selected the objects you want to delete the non-used annotative scales. Under those properties, you can go to "ANNOTATIVE SCALE" and give it a click. You will immediately see a little box to the right with (3) dots. Click on it and you will see the so-wanted menu we've been looking for. There you can select multiple unwanted scales and hit delete. All of the unwanted annotative scales are erased!!! Best of luck to you!

I was about to try the macro listed here but then I tried one more method...I used the quick select and it worked!!

First I entered the QSELECT command then set the Object Type: Multileader and the Operator: Select All, then clicked on OK.

After everything was selected, I then went to my properties and then clicked on the box in the Annotative section:

Now I can select the scales that I want to remove and then click delete

...now they are gone! Then turn off the ANNOAUTOSCALE so that you don't have new one's added back again.
