aclt.exe missing on subsequent install??

Just built a new system(running WinXP Pro), went through necessary installation and license transfer. Alas, when I attempt to begin using the program, the desktop shortcut points to a non-existent file. I have looked all through the AutoCad 2000i LT folder and the aclt.exe file is nowhere to be found!? I attempted two reinstalls with the same results. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Did you log-in as ADMIN before installing the software? Turn off all
background running applications? Did you have to run OS compatibility mode
to get 2000i installed (it is not supported on that OS)?

Also, did you log-in as ADMIN or POWER USER to use LT?

Dean,

Thank you for all the help. Unfortunately I had done all of those things, but still to no avail. I even tried all of them again(several times) after your posts, and still nothing. Just before I was about to throw the whole system out into my dumpster I decided to try something. Why I hadn't thought of this before is not clear. I simply took my old hardrive, installed it into my new computer, burned a copy of the aclt.exe from the old drive, then inserted it into the new installation on the new computer. Would you believe that it works like a champ?? I have not put it through the paces yet, but startup is quick with no glitches and it seems to let me perform simple tasks with no meltdown. Unbelievable!?!? I am still in a quandary as to why the installation would never place that certain file into the AC 2000i system folder, but all's well that ends well. If I can help anyone else with this seemingly widespread problem, please let me know. I will make it a habit to check back here from time to time. Thanks to this entire message board!!!

Are you still here... after 17 years.

I noticed you had an issue with transferring the aclt.exe file when you upgraded your hard drive.  Did you do the standard DATA MIGRATION action, that (supposed to) transfers all files from the old HD to the new one?  I did this last year... to a solid state HD.

Is there some reason the aclt.exe file WOULDN'T transfer?
