ACAD Lt continuously crashes on save or hatch command

HI - I have CAD Lt 2012 running on win 8.1 (64B, 12G RAM, i7) Laptop and have been using CAD on this for a few years now with no problems. Recently the program has got buggy and now crashes every time I  Qsave. Sometimes it will crash even when not saving, e.g after hatch command or just drawing anything?

I have tried repair and reinstalling from disk through the windows program manager and have also tried various fixes (deleting scale list and otehr suggestions from forums). I have also run a full scan and clean up on the windows side and still the problem keeps occurring. I have also deleted numerous old programs and although my computer starts up rapidly, the problem still occurs. I treid toi install service pack 1 but on trying to execuet teh file it reads _ program not in correct location (my product ver is F205.0.0)

The message reads:

Auto Cad LT cannot continue. You can attempt to save changes etc etc. - (there is no error handling number)

This happens with new drawings and old.

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks - Dan

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD LT forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

It sounds from your post like you are describing multiple things are going on and resulting in the file crashing.  Is this happening with all of your files?

I am a little bothered by the Service Pack not getting installed properly.

I suggest that you perform a Clean Uninstall. Then check to make sure your Windows is fully updated.  Finally, reinstall your AutoCAD LT and instantly apply all the hotfixes and service Pack.

Please let me know if you are comfortable going through this process and if you need any resources or help to do so.

Thanks John,

I'll do as you say and yes, it now happens with all files - both old and new. Very frustrating. I will post back if the clean uninstall/install works but I wont get a chance to do this till Wednesday.

Thanks again.

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you had a chance to try my suggestions?  I am hoping that have returned some stability to your setup.

After having to buy a new external dvd drive to re-install and apply the hotfixes (ribbon pack) and service pack (sp2 only as sp1 would not install as it "was not designed for my version") I am still having the same problem. I am so confused as to why this is happening as everything was fine and then......? Should I just scrap my windows set up and by a mac and get an annual subscription to CAD? Again - any help or ideas very much appreciated.

cheers

The latest error log reads:

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at b7e65e6dh

08/29/2017 at 18:14:51.307 Drawing: C:\Users\

if that is any help?
