2D sketching equivalent to CATIA V5 on LT?

Hi,

The sketch facility on CATIA V5 was a powerful tool, where I could adjust a couple of parameters and the whole sketch changed accordingly.  Nowadays, I'm using AutoCAD LT, and I was hoping to be able to do something similar, to save me having to redraw similar shaped objects from scratch each time.

Essentially, I am creating a single feature, which will be copied using polar array around a centre point. Some lines will remain a fixed length, others will need to be shortened or lengthened accordingly; the angles between the lines will remain fixed.

Can something like this be done? And if so, what feature of AutoCAD LT do I need to be using, and are there any basic instructions for what to do?

Many thanks in advance,

Stephen

No similar option, $380/yr LT cannot compare to $9000+ for features and abilities.

Hi Stephen,

Welcome to AutoCAD LT Forum community.

AutoCAD LT essential means the limited version of the full AutoCAD application. So features, as you mentioned, are limited if at all available.

I would recommend running trial version's of AutoCAD (full) and Inventor (full) these programs may fit your work needs in regards to automation.

Here are the links to run the trial versions;
