Xref pathing - File search

Hi,

I recently posted regarding plotting files paths directly to the same file location as the saved DWG, therefore saving time in plotting when working on various jobs throughout the day.

In a similar manner, I am looking for a solution when attaching xrefs - I'd like the ACAD file that I'm attaching the xref to, to search in the file that it is saved in FIRST, rather than reverting back to the previous folder that I attached an xref from.

We work on many projects a week and want to know if a solution in the options tab or a lsp exits to solve the above.

What is REMEMBERFOLDERS variable set to? and if you change it (and restart the program) does it behave like you want now?

FYI for most of us by default AutoCAD will search the location of the DWG file that XREF(s) reside in if it cannot find the XREF in the hard-coded location.

The REMEMBERFOLDERS  is set to 1, so it does remember the last pathed xref location; What I'm after is for it to give me the same folder the ACAD resides in, so we can quickly find the xref locations. 

As you can imagine scrolling through countless projects when hopping back and forth is becoming tedious.

The program folder? You store files in the program folder, aka the way last century DOS users did it?

Do you not use this feature at all? You know, add a custom folder(s) so it is always one click away all the time, no one wades through folders all the time anymore

The file path we use for xrefs is within project folders as the attached.

 When searching for xrefs this shows

This is the select reference window which shows the file location of the last xref loaded (any xref, not project specific) .  Meaning we have to go back through the file path to the project were now working in.
