Xref layers not displaying

I have keynotes xrefed into three different drawing files. Two of the files display correct. The other file does not display the text layer. All layers from the xref are on and thawed.Even the current and new VP are on and thawed. Any ideas? Using 2015 on a Windows 7.

It would help if you upload a sample drawing file for people helping you.

A circle is the locus of a cursor, starting and ending at the same point on a plane in model space or in layout such that its distance from a given coordinates (X,Y) is always constant.

Hi,

i'm afraid that you have to change your MAXSORT system variable.

From HELP :

Sets the maximum number of items such as file names, layer names, and block names that are sorted alphabetically in dialog boxes, drop-down lists, and palettes.

Type:Integer
Saved in:Registry
Initial value:1000

If the total number of items, also called named objects, exceeds this value, no items are sorted.

The value of MAXSORT is an integer between 0 and 32767.

Good Luck..

Thank you for the advice. I increased MAXSORT to 30,000, detached the keynote xref and reattached it. The layer still does not display. I did a complete purge as well.

Probably related to annotative scale, are you xrefing it into paper space ?

I did an etransmit on it along with a PDF file. The PDF file is what I see and results when plotting. The etransmit is for you to dig into to see what could be the issue. I tried all I could and kno to check.

Thank you

As said by someone else:

"The layers were check "on" but frozen...when I unfroze it showed up. Simple but I don't know exactly why they don't show up. A nested overlay may be the problem or a layerset in layout...not sure."

Not talking about your current file, talking about the xref file.

I opened your xref, exploded the MTEXT, reloaded the xref, your text appeared in the top file.

So you probably have some override in the mtext that needs to be fixed. I didn't spend any time looking for it myself.

The text in question was annotative.

One I set the text to non-annotative it was visible in the xref.

Or you could add the proper scale for the annotavite text, that would work as well.

It has nothing to do with layers or layer visibility.

Thank you. I turned off the Annotate in the xref and it appeared like you said.

Many Thanks.
