Xref layer settings Help

When I attach an Xref, there's a few things acting unusually.

1.  The layer colors override the actual object colors.  (for example, I have a door block with the door being one color and the swing being a lighter color.  But since the whole block is on a single layer, the swing still appears as the darker color)

2.  If I freeze a layer in the main file, then close and reopen that file, the layer unfreezes again.

This problem doesn't affect all drawings I open, just this particular project.

If I open the affected drawing on a different computer, then the colors are normal.

Is there a setting that got changed by accident?

@zachUDEDM Did you already rule out you fighting your own VISRETAIN and XREFOVERRIDE variables settings? usage is explained in HELP in your AutoCAD.

Hi,

1) Sounds like XrefOverride is ON(1) in your main file,

BUT is is stored in the mainfile and would be the same on all workstations

2) Sounds like VISRETAIN is OFF(0) or check VisretainMode setting,

BUT is is stored in the mainfile and would be the same on all workstations

So I have no idea whats going on.

Thanks, I didn't know about XREFOVERRIDE.
I checked both settings and they were set to 0.  Then I undid my workarounds to test and everything looks normal again... before I changed anything.

Might have been a display bug?

Anyway thanks for the help, hope it doesn't come back.
