Xref File color not chnaging

Hello Everbody,

i have an issue with changing the color of my Xref file.

i have saved my title block and added as a Xref in another file. But when i change the color in my source file it's not getting updated in the added file.

but the others change whatever i do in the source file is updating automatically. Is there anything i need to do with the layers in the source file and the added file?

Please help me.....Smiley Frustrated

Look up VISRETAIN variable in HELP in the top file and see if you have it set to ignore your changes to the xref... .

VISRETAIN is one option but that kind of sets the status of the entire Layer properties to either reflect changes in the source file or not.

Another way to tackle the problem is any time you change the source layer property like Color, Linetype, Lineweight, just rename that Layer.

Then when Xref AutoCAD will see that it's a new Layer and will reflect with the settings lasts saved in the source drawing regardless of VISRETAIN.
