Xref Bind fails with "unknown reason", AutoCAD 2027, every fix tried

I'm hitting a persistent Xref Bind failure in AutoCAD 2027 that survives every fix I can find on this forum and in the Autodesk knowledge base.

I have attached the file which is unable to be bound. It is an empty file! I started from a file which had items in it and wasnt able to bind into a drawing where it was xrefed, and then I removed everything in it but still can't bind it.

I would sincerely appreciate any help, if someone maybe sees what it is still wrong in this blank file, so then I fix it in the larger file.

Posting the full elimination process since a lot of similar threads never get a resolution. Maybe someone recognizes the specific error.

What I've tried

• Proxy objects: none. Checked with PROXYNOTICE on, no warning on open.
• Corruption: RECOVERALL and AUDIT come back clean on both the host and the xref.
• Duplicate named objects: purged repeatedly, both All and Regapps.
• Leftover Xref Compare data: confirmed and stripped via WBLOCK and a DXF round trip. 
• Cloud sync: moved everything to a plain local folder (C:\Temp), no OneDrive, SharePoint, or Dropbox involved. 
• Machine-specific issue: tested on two separate computers, same result on both.
• Host drawing: tried binding into a brand new blank drawing, not just the original file. Still fails.

1. Download and install (in AutoCAD only, not AutoCAD LT) the Add-in "ZombieKiller" from the Autodesk app store (free).
2. Run ZombieKiller from the ribbon "Add-Ins" for each of the nested XREFs that do not bind.
   • Note: removing the wrong proxies might make the file lose the initial intelligence set by the third-party tool that inserted it.

Start a new drawing in AutoCAD. On the command line type CLASSICINSERT. Click Browse, select the xref drawing file, and then click OK to insert it into the new drawing. The drawing inserts as a block. Select the drawing/block and then explode it.

Hi thanks again, the classicinsert works! However I will lose the xref layer properties that I would have been applying like this, and would need to set them again every time after importing, and layers no longer come as "xrefname_layername", they just come as "layername" which conflicts with my drawing unfortunately. Does the fact that the 'classicinsert' works give you any insight as to what might be happening? 

However, just tried something, opened blank new file, classicinserted the drawing which wasnt being bound, and now this new drawing can be bound, with all the data that was in the original, save for layouts and global ltscale etc...

Adding to @BhaskarMurari  recommendation.

Its possible that drawing might have  external reference drawing has specialized objects in it, often belonging to third-party software. These custom objects prevent an xref from being bound. To verify this, first, confirm that the system variable PROXYNOTICE is set to 1.

Convert the Xref file to DXF format:

• Open, and save it as DXF, which could allow successful binding.
• Alternatively, using the QSELECT command within the xref file to select all "PROXY" objects, moving them to a new layer, and then freezing that layer might also result in successful file binding.
