Working through Projectwise - Can you copy and past xrefs as opposed to attach?

Working through Projectwise if that makes a difference, essentially in one of my dwgs I have 6-7 xrefs that I need to copy into another dwg. Could I just copy and paste with base point (0, 0, 0) or should I attach them one by one in the new file? Not sure if simply copy and pasting would mess up any links to the xref…

Thanks!

you can copy and paste the file, but if any changes you make  with the xref you do it again copy and paste, xref attach is the best idea and changes you make it will update automatically?
