Windows 11 - Blurry images and error messages in autocad

Hi

We are currently rolling out windows 11 across the business and our CAD team have been experiencing some strange issues.

The laptop model our CAD team is using:

P16v Gen 1

Processor - 1x AMD Ryzen™ 9 PRO 7940HS Processor(Ryzen™ 9 PRO 7940HS)

Memory - 2x 32 GB DDR5-5600

Operating System - Windows 11 Enterprise

Hard Drive - 1x 1TB G4 Perf

Wired Network - 1x Wireless Network 1x Bluetooth® 5.1 (Windows 10) or Bluetooth® 5.3 (Windows 11); Qualcomm Wi-Fi 6E NFA725A 2x2 AX

Ports - 1x HDMI 2.1 for NV GPU config

others 2.0 only; 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1; Combo audio/microphone jack; 2 x USB Type-C (USB4.0

DP1.4)

Camera - 1x 5MP RGB+IR with Privacy Shutter and Dual Microphone

Graphics - 1x NVIDIA RTX™ 2000 Ada 8GB

Monitor - 16" WQUXGA

Laptop display - 3840x2400, scaling 250% (recommended)

2K monitor - 2560x1440, scaling 125% (recommended)

The Issue:

When connecting 2x2K or 2x1080p monitors in a certain orientation, laptop at the bottom and monitors at the top the users are prompted with an error message when right clicking on the layer properties toolbar - see screenshot attached - "AutoCad Error.png" , "screen orientation - error.png"

In addition to the error the images become blurry. The drawing lines become thick and do not look fine detailed.

If the laptop is made the primary display and the monitors are placed side by side of the laptop display in windows the issues does not occur.

If the extended displays are placed at the top of the laptop display and one of the top monitors is made the primary then the error does occur.

The following configurations have been done in Windows 11:

  • Hardware acceleration is turned on
  • Settings - Display - Graphics, AutoCAD has been added as a custom options for apps and has the GPU set for high performance
  • Gaming mode turned off
  • NVIDIA app has been configured to max out the GPU performance and utilise the GPU as base config.
  • No DPI aware settings have been altered these are default.

What is even more strange the users are not experience any of these issues on their old Dell XPS laptops which are 4k displays, RTX 1650 ti, Windows 10.

I have attached the blurry images named "example.png"

One of the suggestions on the forums was to downgrade the DirectX component down to 11 but this made things worst along disabling the hardware acceleration within AutoCad, this also made it worst.

So far the only workaround we have is to set the laptop display at the main primary display and keep monitors extended on the side of the laptop display which is not ideal for the team.

I was hoping someone has come across similar issues and could advise what might be causing this or any pointers on what I can try to help improve the experience.
