Why burst command shrink Excel table

Hi,

So here the situation, I attached and then binded a dwg file to a template file. The attached file is a drawing converted from Solid Edge. Then, I used BURST ALL , since it came in one block, to edit the layers's drawing. In the case that the drawing contains a Excel table, the BURST command shrink the table and reposition it at the insertion point of the attached drawing. So how can I replace the table at its initial position or how can I avoid this problem?

Thank you all

Hi,

I never got a SolidEdge file with an embedded XLS-table ... so to play with this I would need the file.

However, the main question from my side is why you use _BURST instead of _EXPLODE ... and does _EXPLODE also change the table's size?

Thank you for your suggestion, Explode works better in this case, it doesn't affect the table. I used BURST because my superiors did it that way, but it does not work for that particular case.

Hi,

>> Explode works better in this case,

Command _EXPLODE should be the standard to split block-insertions to it's entities.
_BURST should only be used for one specific situation: when you have block-insertions with attributes and you want to keep the attribute values as text ... just for this.

Ok I see, thanks. Last thing, would you know why the inch symbol of all my dimensions disapear after the Explode (it did the same thing with BURST). Here my dimension type :

50
[1-1/2'']
The first dimension is in mm and the second in inch, but I lose the inch symbol after EXPLODE. I also lose the specific parameters of the inch dimension.

Hi,

I would need a dwg-file to see and to test with the entities.

By default this should not happen, however as you wrote this geometry was imported from some external file formats, a lot of things can happen.
