White boxes on some images when printed to pdf

I am printing sheets that have 2 jpeg renders from sketchup and 2 jpeg photographs on them, and some of the images have these white boxes. The images were placed in the CAD file through attach image, not insert. It is not a draw order issue as there is nothing behind the images.

Hi @abairdNM7YW,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Some 3rd party PDF plotter (drivers) and PDF viewers can result in artifacts showing up in the PDF.  Please test the following:

  • Open the PDF in a browser, such as Chrome.
    1. Right-click on the PDF and select Open with...
    2. Select Chrome, Edge, or another browser.
  • Plot using the AutoCAD PDF (General Documentation) plotter driver.

Please let me know if that helps. If the issue is still occurring, and you would like to share the drawing and PDF showing the issue, we can help narrow down the cause.

All the best,
