Just to give you a feeling, I'm both a Windows and Mac User, so I can't really give you a preference.
Mac: I use for mostly for graphic design, its interface, and surfing the web. Windows: I use for rendering, animation, and video games.
Anyone can put equivalent hardware into an OS and call it awesome. I would say it all comes down to what interface you're more comfortable with, though it's good to use and learn something new too.
