VIEWBASE Command Filtering Out Some Objects

I'm having an issue getting the VIEWBASE command to work properly when laying out a 3D model in paper space.  I've attached a couple pictures that show the steps I'm taking, and a DWG of the file.

Picture Explanations:

(1) After going to paper space, clicking the layout tab, selecting the drop down arrow under base, and choosing "from model space" I am taken to this screen.  It shows that only some of the objects in my model are selected to show up in paper space, this is the problem I'm trying to fix.

(2) After I draw a selection window around the entire model, (I've also tried pressing "e" for Entire model)and release the mouse, the command line shows "2831 were filtered out, 91 groups, 1668 total", and the selected objects remain the same.

What is causing this command to filter out certain objects from my model??  I generally do my paper space layouts with manual viewports, but I recently watched a tutorial showcasing this command and wanted to implement it.

Thanks for any help!

Maybe an XREF or so, it's beyond me. See link for more information on VIEWBASE.

Hi @Anonymous

There are some problems associated with the feature. Some things to attempt are to scale the entire model by 1.000001. Then create new views to see if all the geometry is present.

Sometimes complex or nested blocks can also cause this issue. Another item is a mirrored block will do this too.

I was able to get this view after doing the scaling method on the model.

The defects have been submitted to the development team. I hope this helps.

First off, thanks for responding quickly to my post!

Unfortunately, scaling the model did not do the trick.  I do feel the rest of what you wrote seems to answer my original question.  I believe the issue is the mirrored blocks and/or the complex geometry involved in some areas.  If I understood your response correctly, it seems this feature is just not meant to work with most of the projects I do in my work yet.

I hope in the future the capabilities can be expanded to work well with all models, but I definitely realize this is a tall task.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi @Anonymous,

Try scaling the model twice! I had to that the second time I opened the drawing of yours.
