using the sum from a data extraction table

Is it possible to use the sum of a data extraction table in, for example in a field or text?

I created a block, containing the width and heigth of a wall finishing. Using data extraction I create a table with these width and height values, insert an extra column multiplying width and height to an area and add the footer with the sum of this multiplication. Now I want to use this sum in a field, but in the field properties I can't find this sum. Is it somehow possible to read this sum?

You can choose the cell directly if your field is a formula

Hi,

you can read the sum field like every other (number)cell too - see Michiels post above,

but think about, your field will link zu a specific cell (E5 for example)

and if your table change to more or less rows... the field will still read Cell E5!

Thanks for the quick response and the warning. Tried it and got it to work! Table will mostly not expand, but it is good to keep in mind the field setting is static and will not update to the sum cel. Thnx again!
