trimming wipeout

I am working on a hatch (actually a replicated block) to obscure objects underlying according to the elements in the design that fits any given shape. Parallel lines ensure the elements of wipeout would be a uniform size. Custom shapes would require trimming WIPEOUT accordingly, or .. WIPEOUT over everything as the intended shape negative cut out? This post is about there being a way to trim WIPEOUT or is there is an express tool for this?

IMAGECLIP doesn't work on wipeouts I am afraid.

But, if you attach an image and send that command, it works ! So that you can attach a pure white image in PNG and custom its shape easily.

It is not exactly the same as a wipeout but it works.

Why not just create the WIPEOUT with the polyline option for your custom shape?
