trim command not working

hey!

i have recently downloaded autocad 2017 via student license and while i was using it, it came to my attention that the trim command is not working.

i mean whenever i try to use it, i select first my boundaries and confirm my selection by pressing enter but then there is never any line that can be trimmed.

i have used previous versions of autocad so i know how the command works but i don't seem to know how to make it work here. maybe it needs some extra add on or i can unblocked it in any way.

any ideas?

hello again,

i tried all the suggested solutions, i also tried to uninstall then install autocad but still nothing is working.

i also made sure that all my layers were unlocked.

any thoughts?

Please upload your drawing with the objects that can't be trimmed.

all lines can't be trimmed although it's a very simple drawing

Your lines are as long as connecting 2 galaxies, that can't work as this is far beyond the double precision calculation accuracy.

E.g. one "short" line is > 20.000.000.000.000m long.

Scale your drawing (if that works) to real sizes and all works well.

PS: you know that DWT as extension should not be used to save drawing, please save your drawings using the DWG format?
