Thicker lines were displayed if some lines are situated over each other SETVAR?

Since 2016 there seems to be a new feature, that lines are display thicker and thicker if more and more lines are situated one behind another. For example if you draw 20 lines in a row and look from the side at it - it will be displayed thicker than one line. It is not caused by the LWDISPALY command. May be that someone like a feature like this, I would prefer thin lines. If you have little inaccuracies in your drawings it is better to see (at the moment I work with drawings from a client with masses of inaccuracies like 9.7500000023 m) Is there a system variable to switch this behaviour off ?

Additional question: does anybody know a LISP routine where inaccuracies wil be repared in the whole drawing? The problem is, that sometimes operations with 3D-SOLIDS, based on those inaccurate data will not be executed or, at least two times in the last hours, AutoCAD crashes during such operations.

Search these Forums.  There are routines that will [for example] force all Line endpoints to fall on a grid position of whatever increment you choose, etc.  They do have certain limitations, but try some of them.

Thank you very much. If I think deeper it has to be no great problem if you
are familiar with AutoLISP. All you have to do is cut the data four or five
digits behind the point or replace it by zero. I will try some of it.

I think, I have solved the problem. There is a Command called GRAPHICSCONFIG to set up 3D performance settings. One of it is "Per-pixel lightning: Enables the computation of colors for individual pixels. With this option turned on, the 3d objects and lightning effects appear smoother in the viewport." I´m working with the German version of AutoCAD 2016. If I retranslate the text, wich is shown in the dialog window for this option it sounds like this: "Lightning per pixel (Phong): Increases the level of detail and the realism during working with 3d objects and lightning effects."

To be short: If I switch off the option my problem with the thick lines disappears, if I switch it on, the problem will be there again. I seems to be, that there is a relation between the thickness of these lines and the number of objects shown in the drawing, the number of open drawings and (perhaps additional) the duration of work since starting AutoCAD. In the attachment two pictures with "Per-pixel lightning" on and off (please use the 1:1 view). Hope it helps anybody who is disturbed by thick lines.

Which AutoCAD Version you work with?

Additional I have seen a warning, that AutoCAD switches off some options
under GRAPHICSCONFIG temporarily if too many objects are in the drawing. I´m
confused a little, because my RAM is 16 GB (25% used) and the graphics
adapter has 3GB of RAM. My drawing is about 12 MB. All modeled with 3D
solids, a lot of it arranged in blocks. But sometimes parts of the model
disappeared in the shaded view and sometimes, when I switched back to
wireframe the wireframe model is also seen in the other model view port
until I do a redraw. May be that the real cause of all the problems is the
graphics driver. My graphics adapter is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580, which is
connected to 2 monitors with 1920x1200 pixel resolution. Never had problems
with it under AutoCAD.

The behavior appears to be controlled by one of the setting in the visual style.

Thank you very much! This is an additional point to prevent the thick lines. According your hint I tried to understand the difference between those two visual modes, but I failed. In the German and English helpfile there are identical explanations for it "Display objects using lines and curves to represent the boundaries." In then manager for visual styles I can´t find an option there one can control the lineweight."

There are other things that i have come across which had different behaviors in the various wire frames though i haven't found a delineated explanation of it. For instance draw order is not taken into account out side of 2d wireframe. That one makes sense but it would be nice to really know the differences.

And, accidentally, I found another difference. I own a 3d-mouse, called "Space Explorer" from "3DConnection". If I work in "wireframe" view I can rotate the model in all axis. If I work in "2D-wireframe" it is limited to pan and zoom. In former versions of the driver for the 3d-mouse I was able to limit the movement to pan in the driver options. The new driver does not have this option. I think, there is a strong cooperation between AutoDESK and 3dconnection. In the first times of this 3D mouse you had to install a special AutoCAD driver for it. On the other hand, 3DORBIT inside AutoCAD can rotate the model regardless of 2d-wireframe or not. If you use 3DORBIT, 2d-wireframe is temporaryly disabled. You can see it on the upper left corner. "2D-wireframe" changes to "wireframe" during operation with 3DORBIT.

Found another great feature (or bug?) with the 2d-wireframe. If an image is inserted, 2d-wireframe with grid activated looks like this:

If switched ti wireframe it looks like this:

Can you repeat this on your computer or is it a problem of my graphics adapter (Nividia GeForce GTX 580)?
