Thick Lines on Cad to printer, but good in cad to pdf

Hi i have a problem with my lineweights for printing. I have made different cases or scenarios using different plots.

1. ( main problem)

I have to print using hp plotter t1700 but the the output lineweights are too thick, but if you look at it closely, it has lineweights but it is too thick like my 0.1 lineweights looks like 0.3 on print.

2. I have printed using smaller printer but it is good, with proper lineweights.

3. I have tried using exporting it to pdf then print to the plotter. The results are good with proper lineweights. but if printed directly from cad to printer, it is not good. We cant just always export to pdf just to print with proper lineweights.

4. We uses a main computer server that plots good, but with the other computer(5 computers that connects to the server) it's output is also too thick. but we cant always uses the server just to print with proper lineweights.

5. I have tried export autocad settings from the main server and import it to my computer, but it still didnt work.

Thank you. Hoping for a quick answer with less commands as I am not that good with settings, thank you.

also, my settings are all in default.

@oliverlarracas ,

Welcome to the AutoCAD forum.

As you mentioned, "... always export to pdf just to print with proper lineweights."

Contact your IT person and consider downloading the latest print driver:

Are you using a plot style table?
Or relying solely on LWEIGHT settings?
Or using both together?

Or PLINEs with set widths?
Or all three together?

What about printing directly to another printer in the office? Another plotter?
Is this HP all new to all of you, or did you all get all new computers or move into a new just this week?
or did something else change or is new to all of you AutoCAD users?

What does " We uses a main computer server that plots good" mean please?

I also vote for printing to a pdf file and then printing the pdf file, as a default mode of living.

The issue is probably that there is a Plot Style Table with lineweight overrides that is changing the lineweights when you print directly to the HP. That's an archaic system that Autodesk should have burned decades ago, but...

So, check the box for "Plot object lineweights" and set "Plot style table" to "none", or print to a pdf file.

We set lineweights on layer tabs and just print it directly.

Lineweights are fine on the main computer (server) but in my computer it's all just thick lines.

I just changed my old and slow windows 7 computer to a newer one (windows 10). My last computer prints fine, this new computer prints thick lines.

or did something else change or is new to all of you AutoCAD users?

All 12 computers prints thick lines except the server. ( my last pc prints fine also before changing it to a newer one)

What does " We uses a main computer server that plots good" mean please?

The plotter or printer is directly connected via usb port to a 1 main computer (server) and we're connected as netwrok/ lan to it.

New PC, new OS, new Drivers: they will always act differently.

If the lines are "too thick", you can control that in AutoCAD using LWEIGHT or PLOT STYLE TABLE settings, whichever is your company standards for line weights. As far as I know, you really don't have another choice unless your Windows driver for your printer(s) have settings for lineweights.

Or you all need to find and only use the exact driver and driver settings as the "server", and if that is WIn7, you're probably out of luck I suspect but it might work if you can get it installed.

My pc was one of the oldest pc of the company so the driver was installed there, the server is using windows 10. we have different windows version (10 and 7) but it worked.
