The image tab not showing up

I attached an image from my computer and I'm trying to hide the image. Normally I would select the image and the image tab will appear at the top and I can click the 'show image' button. But when I selected the image, the image tab doesn't appear.

not sure why the image panel is not automatically showing on your ribbon

have you tried restarting autocad?

you can also select Show Image options on the Properties window:

Was the image attached [Insert] as Reference or OLE Object?

Unlike a reference, OLE objects will not show on the ribbon. Place the OLE on a layer to turn ON/OFF.

If it was reference, then use the link below to troubleshoot the tab not showing on the ribbon:

I tried closing Autocad and opening it again but it still has the same issue. When I go to properties, I don't see the hide image option either.

the Properties window shows what you selected is a Block and not an Image:

It was actually imported as a PDF using the PDF import option, sorry for the confusion.

If you have a PDF editing program, you can always open the PDF & save it as an Image file and then ImageAttach that into AutoCAD. Then you should be able to use the Hide/Show feature.

Okay, I was watching an autocad tutorial course and the instructor imported it as a pdf and he's able to select it and the image tab appears. It's not a big deal for me, I was just wondering if there's a way to get it to appear. But thanks for the help anyways!

Since I don't have your PDF file you're Importing, my best guess is that during the PDFImport process, the tutorial had under Import options the Import as Block option unchecked. Then if there are any images within the PDF, it'll come in as an image for you to select to toggle Hide/Show. But if the Import as Block option is checked then your PDF will come in as a BLOCK which is what is happening based on your screenshot. Now if this is the case, you can select the BLOCK and Explode it. Then you can select any images that might have been within the PDF to Hide/Show.

Yes, that is what happened. The tutorial had the import as block option checked but for some reason the instructor can select it and the image tab appears. I will try to explode it and see if that works.

If it was "imported as block"

he's start Refedit, Bedit or Explode before selection.

Share the tutorial link, if this is an online tut

It's from this site called SourceCAD. You would need a subscription to be able to assess the materials that I have. But I exploded the block and now it works.

Contact them to fix their material if you are paying for it.

That's a good idea. It does allow you to comment on the video and usually the instructor will answer your questions. I commented and he said make sure you're not selecting multiple objects or something. It still doesn't work and he hasn't replied. Maybe I can contact the support team.
