Text label extraction from DWG file

Hi everyone,

                      I want to extract all the text lables in the drawing avaliable as .dwg file using python and filter those text as per my wish and load to a .xls file.

Hi,

I think you can do what you want purely with AutoCAD functionality.

the commando _DATAEXTRACTION can do what you need and deliver it directly to an .xls file.

Hi Michiel,

                  Thanks for replying , but data_extraction command will give only the entity tag name, but i actually want to extract the text labels in the diagram, not the entity name or number of blocks.

Hello,

Could you share an example .dwg? I'm not sure if I understood your original question correctly.

I thought that if you selected to extract the 'value' then you will get the actual contents of your labels. This should work for all kinds of text objects.
