Sorry to Bother You All, Just a Slight Irritant Pet Peeve. When

I enter the Text Edit Command for Mtext, It Takes Forever for the

Edit Bar to Emerge. Has Anyone Else Experienced This and is There

a Way to Expedite the Editing Process.

Also, The Plot Command does the Same Thing.

Thanks

It happens to me the first time I use it in a new ACAD session

Also, all my input is delayed due to working remotely

@ jeff.whitney that has nothing to do with the topic of this discussion, unless you two know each other and they too are remote accessing.

How are you connected remotely: VPN, RDP, 3rd party software, something else?
What are you connecting to? WinServerOS machine, something else?
What are upload and download speeds at your remote connection? And at the source you connect to?

What does ABOUT command list as your version in AutoCAD?
What is your OS?

Dean, we are still using 2019.  Remote software is LogMeIn, logged into my work computer which is connected to a win server - we're all using windows 10, no idea what build version.

Up and downloads seem to be fine, it's just that there is a noticeable delay in commands, and the mouse moves slowly too.  The text edit delay only happens the first time I use it in a day or session.  Once I have used it, it seems to be pretty normal.

I have noticed a delay in commands even when working at the office - I attributed it to windows overhead, since it did not happen in DOS based acad, and it seems to be worse with Win10 than previous versions - but that just may be my perception (like childbirth LOL)

"using 2019" does not tell anyone much, including if you have required updates installed or not: ABOUT command's more detailed information is the better one to share if and when asked, give it another try.

See this for text issues, lots of things to try, having too many fonts is a big deal too https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/delay-...

This is a good place to start for overall slowness https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Long-d...

Glad you just gave up on DOS: hope you'll find Windows more friendly as time goes by 😉

JCKRUGER47... I Went to the Autodesk Knowledge Network as You had Requested. I Selected "The Text Object Before Double-Clicking to Edit It," as Instructed, This Works Get. Thanks For All Your Help.
